Orca seen up close underwater in Baja California Sur

Orcas

They can be found in Baja California Sur most of the year, but this is the best moment: they come to hunt the mobula aggregation. The only place in the world where you can see orcas consistently without a 5 mm+ wetsuit or a drysuit.

Sea Lions

Resident families live in different spots along the coast. We visit them for playful, curious encounters you will never forget.

Dolphins

One of the places with the most dolphin species: spinners, bottlenose and Risso's dolphins, among others that live in the area.

Pelagic Species

Every day is different and we never know what we will find. There are real chances of meeting pelagic species like oceanic manta rays, sharks, pilot whales and more.

Orcas. And much more.

The Sea of Cortez is known as the world's aquarium, and there is a reason for it: every day is different, and you can run into almost any species you can imagine. From the blue whale, the largest animal on Earth, to sperm whales and beaked whales, some of the rarest whales to see. Add the mobula aggregation, sea lions, several species of dolphins, sea turtles and reefs full of life, and you get one of the richest seas on the planet.

One trip you will remember forever.

Every year, in late spring, thousands of mobula rays gather in the Sea of Cortez in one of the largest wildlife aggregations on the planet: the biggest mobula aggregation in the world. And where the mobulas are, the orcas follow: they come to hunt, giving us the chance to share the water with the ocean's most powerful and intelligent predator.

This is a true ocean safari. On many trips you go to one specific spot to see one animal you already know will be there. Here it is different: every day we head out into the Sea of Cortez searching for whatever the ocean brings, never knowing what will show up next. That is exactly what makes every day an adventure.

Your expedition will be with BlueKings. We have been leading trips to this place for more than 7 years and have shared it with hundreds of travelers. We lead the expedition ourselves, hand in hand with local captains from Baja California Sur. We support local tourism. And we keep the groups small, only 7 guests, so everyone gets in the water.
